If it says that the F5 is not bound. Simply run the command again. In your Left 4 Dead client, you can do so by going to the Options menu, then Keyboard/Mouse settings. Connect to your Server To connect to your server, open the Developer Console in your game client using the tilde key ~ on your keyboard (typically found directly beneath the esc key).
Also, why are console commands and CVAR changes not considered a norm? The best of the game is in making the changes YOU want! It should be an officially celebrated and supported feature of MOST games yet it's not. Left 4 Dead 2 always says "go to the main menu and use map mapname to start your own listen server so you can use sv_cheats 1".
type on console exec autoexec.cfg and see if you get any errors.. Or use the +exec command line parameter. I've made the autoexec.cfg file and pasted into Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\cfg and it doesn't work at all, it doesn't show up when I load up my game and I don't know why.
